Q&A: Peter Jacobson
If you wrote an episode, what would you be sure your character did?
He would play basketball against Foreman and just go off on House. He would just take him down...and I mean wrestle.
What's on your pizza?
Pepperoni and black olives. As a born and bred Chicagoan, I am very, very guarded about that question. I am very proud of the pizza I grew up with.
What song is on your personal soundtrack?
"Hey Jude" by The Beatles
What do you like to do in the show's offseason?
Be at home with my family. I like to read, also.
It's 11AM on Sunday - where are you and what are you doing?
I am at home, playing with legos with my kid.
If you could call dibs now on any prop from the show what would it be?
The cane is too obvious. I like that head in House's outer office, it like a bust that's half exposed and you see the big eyeball. I love that thing.
What has been your favorite case?
I like the one with the cat, the one where I got fired. It was where you thought that the cat might have been predicting people's deaths. They were just warm; she was lying on them because they were warm.
Dr. Chris Taub never planned on joining an elite team of diagnosticians. He was happy as a plastic surgeon, performing superficial cosmetic upgrades and living well among the rich and privileged. But when his affair with a partner's daughter was discovered, Taub was given a choice by the practice: if he resigned and signed a non-compete agreement, they wouldn't tell his wife, Rachel.
Taub chose to preserve his relationship with Rachel and was soon in a crazy competition for a spot on Dr. Gregory House's team. The extended job interview and his eventual position on the team rekindled a love of medicine and a desire to make a real difference in his patients' lives. Taub never shies away from giving his opinion on a case, even when it differs from House's.
Guilt drove Taub to confess to his wife, and though they reconciled, a dubious House believed Taub would cheat again, and began dogging Taub's every move, looking for cracks in his marriage.
When Taub learned Rachel was confiding in a man from an online support group for spouses of adulterers, telling her new friend things she couldn't share with Taub, he knew the marriage was over.
Newly single Taub moved in with fellow bachelor Dr. Eric Foreman. He soon began a romance with a pretty young nurse, while still sleeping with Rachel, who wasn't ready to let go of their relationship. Now all his chickens have come home to roost: both women are pregnant - and neither knows about the other.
